Top 8 Makeup Must Haves for Beginners in India.

If you’re new to makeup and are ready to start building your collection of basic makeup items, I’ve got you covered with this list of the top 8 makeup must haves for beginners in India! There are plenty of options out there to choose from, so it’s important to know what you need as you work on creating the perfect look for any occasion. Let’s get started!

1.Face Primer.

The most important thing a beginner can do to prep their skin before putting on makeup is to use a face primer. A primer smooths out your skin’s texture and seals your pores, making foundation and powder look more natural, which is essential for applying makeup flawlessly.

Depending on what kind of skin you have, there are different types of primers that work best. For dry or flaky skin, go with silicone-based primers; they’ll fill in fine lines so they don’t appear as visible underneath your foundation.

If you have oily or combination skin, try out pore-minimizing primers that will reduce shine throughout the day and provide a nice canvas for foundation application.

2.Liquid Foundation.

The most popular choice, liquid foundation is one of those basic makeup items beginners should own. It gives a smooth base, covers up blemishes and evens out your skin tone with just a few drops.

Choose your shade carefully as darker tones can add unnecessary darkness to dark skin, while lighter shades make fair complexions look washed out.

Liquid foundations usually come in a small bottle of 30 ml that’s enough to last you at least four months if used regularly.

You can also choose between different types—water-based or oil-based. The former blends easily into your skin and doesn’t feel too heavy while latter offers more coverage but takes some time to dry and feels tacky till then.

3.Concealer.

To cover up dark circles, blemishes and other small imperfections that you want to hide, use a concealer. If you have an oily skin, choose one with an oil-free formula so it doesn’t cause more breakouts.

Find one that matches your skin tone as closely as possible. Concealers come in many different forms, including sticks and liquids (both cream and liquid formulas), so find one that works best for you.

You can also try tinted moisturizers or BB creams which are usually lighter than foundation but still offer coverage.

4.Setting Powder.

Setting powder is one of my favorite basic makeup items beginners. Before I put on my liquid foundation, I dust a light layer of setting powder onto my skin and allow it to dry.

The powder acts as a barrier between your face and liquid foundation, making it last longer. This also helps keep your skin looking matte throughout the day (so you don’t have to worry about major shine!).

While some people use loose or pressed powder, I prefer using stick forms so that they are easy to travel with.

My favorite stick setting powders are: NYX Cosmetics Loose Powder ($6) — A great option if you want coverage without feeling like you’re wearing any makeup at all; it provides a natural finish as well!

5.Blush.

This is one of those basic makeup items beginners should always have on hand. Blush makes your face appear more youthful, so use it to add color to a dull complexion or opt for a cooler color to keep warm tones at bay. … For example, warm blush looks great on olive skin tones while cooler shades work well with cool complexions.

If you’re going with a bright shade, make sure you apply it lightly so as not to overwhelm your features. Matte foundation can also be useful in taming redness and providing an even tone.

Try Garnier Ultra Blends Matte Perfector if you don’t want your foundation to slip and slide throughout your day. It feels like nothing yet delivers medium coverage that will last all day long!

6.Contour.

It gives you a sharp facial feature and a slim face by defining your cheekbones. Contouring is all about adding definition to your face, whether it’s making a round face appear slimmer or increasing cheekbones.

It also makes you look thinner and hides flaws like under-eye bags, since they are made more visible with contouring. When using contour, remember that less is more! You don’t want to go overboard on contouring as it can easily make you look unnatural.

7. Highlighter.

A highlighter is typically an oil-based cosmetic product used to enhance features of your face such as cheekbones and brow bones. Apply it directly with a brush on top of concealer or foundation.

Also, consider using a light touch, since too much highlighter will make you look shiny instead of highlighting.

In general, you can use highlighter in any area where you want to appear more luminous. … Blush: The exact definition of blush differs from person to person and place to place but it’s usually used as a part of makeup that adds color to areas around your face like cheeks and nose.

8.Eyeshadow Palette.

A good eyeshadow palette is your friend—especially when you’re first starting out with makeup. There are thousands of colors, styles, finishes and textures to choose from.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or just want to make sure you have a lot of options, stick with a basic palette that includes several neutrals. It will let you create an endless variety of looks and help keep things super simple.
